Entrepreneurs from New Jersey, Ruben and Yael Miller launched an interesting service for the sale of decorative bar codes for business - Vanity Barcodes.
Both entrepreneurs have extensive experience in the design field - Ruben has a blog design, and Yael - a blog on branding and packaging design. According to the authors of the project, a decorative bar code - it's an underrated marketing tool, promotes the brand and building customer loyalty to the brand.
They believe that their service - a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to turn boring, but an indispensable element in the original packaging and effective advertising sign.
Vanity Barcodes offers a huge range of decorative barcode on any product: birds, cows, flowers, candy, purses, etc., format, UPC, EAN, JAN, ISSN, ISMN, ISSN, UCC EAN-128 and GS1-128. In addition, the site has the ability to create highly customized barcode for each product.

The cost is USD 375 per bar code or USD 200 for 10 different options. For this price the customer gets the original design in TIF or EPS vector format high-resolution, which is sent by email. By customer request, it may be other methods of delivery, for example, FTP server or Web sites to store files.
Decorative bar codes are not so much a functional component of the package as the hallmark of the brand. An interesting finding of American businessmen, which can become really powerful tool for brand building and in Russia (at least the brand of the design bureau:)).
